Two 17-year-old youths have drowned while bathing in the sea in Matara earlier today (1).
The victims are reportedly residents of Akuressa, the police said.
The police added that four youths from the same area had nearly drowned while bathing in the sea and were rescued and admitted to hospital.
The 2 deceased, admitted to hospital in critical condition were later reported dead.
