Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna has decided not to attend the meeting scheduled for tomorrow with President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The meeting was scheduled to be held in order to discuss the All party Government arrangements.
JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that instead the party will submit written proposals to the President.
Earlier today JVP said it will participate in the discussion with President Ranil Wickremesinghe tomorrow (09).
Speaking to the media, JVP member Sunil Handunnetti said that however, the JVP will not support or join the all party government.
“What is the point of talking of an All-Party Government, when the President has already appointed a government. His talks of an interim government are over,” he pointed out.
The former Parliamentarian said the President is not intending on forming an All-Party Government that could call for an election soon.
“It is evident that the All-Party Government he is intending on forming is one that will strengthen his power and one that will win international confidence to obtain loans,” Handunnetti said.
Stating that this is not an All-Party Government that has the mandate of the people, he said thereby, the JVP will not support such a government. (NewsWire)
