Udayanga slams President in a hard hitting interview

In a hard hitting interview with journalist Chamuditha Samarawickrama, former Ambassador to Russia Udayanaga Weerathunga blamed the government led by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa for not taking proper actions to curb the violence which took place around the country.

“If you cannot protect your own parents’ memorial, how can we expect them to protect us ?” questioned Udayanga, who is also a close relative of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

He also questioned why a strong government lead by a President who is vastly experienced in national security could not take necessary actions to control the violent outbreaks around the country.

Udayanga further said that correct decision were not made by the President as proper advice was not given to him by his close allies and advisors from the beginning, which lead to the current crisis.

Previously in a Facebook post too, Udayanga Weerathunga criticized the President for removing former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.

“You will get what you deserve through Karma, as the consequences of the inhuman removal of your brother who brought you to the presidency” he posted. (NewsWire)
