Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy must learn from former Sri Lanka President, the late J.R. Jayawardena’s actions in 1987, MP Ranil Wickremesinghe said commenting on the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
Speaking during an interview with Sirasa TV, the former Prime Minister of Sri Lanka and Leader of the United National Party (UNP) said Zelenskyy must learn strategic moves from the late J.R. Jayawardena.
He explained that when India was against Sri Lanka during the war, the late J.R. Jayawardena had befriended the neighbouring country and together with India had fought the LTTE.
MP Wickremesinghe said the only solution to end the ongoing conflict is for the Ukrainian President to hold discussions with the Russian President Vladimir Putin and come to a common consensus. (NewsWire)
