Police have raided an unauthorized rehabilitation centre for drug addicts in Dehiwala on Saturday (15), which has not got approval from the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board.
The unregistered rehabilitation centre has been operating in Malwatta road, Dehiwala and officers from the Dehiwala Police station have raided the location based on a tip off.
The police have arrested 2 suspects aged 50 and 51 years and also have taken into custody 34 people allegedly being treated in the unauthorized centre, the police said.
The suspects are to be produced to the Mount Lavinia magistrate’s court today, while Dehiwala Police are conducting further investigations. (NewsWire)
