UNICEF commends Government’s decision to protect child rights

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Sri Lanka has appreciated the Government’s recent decisions to protect child rights.

In a letter to the Minister of Justice Ali Sabry, UNICEF Sri Lanka representative Tim Sutton commended the decisions taken by the cabinet of Ministers on 16^th September 2020.

The cabinet of Ministers granted approval to increase the minimum age of labour and to amend laws to ensure that children do not enter the prison system. (NewsWire)
