USA Cricket is in discussion with former Sri Lanka cricketer Jehan Mubarak to join its recruitment drive.
Sports journalist covering USA cricket Peter Della Penna said the discussions have been underway for the last 18-months.
According to the Cricinfo writer, Jehan Mubarak qualifies to play for USA based on being born in Washington DC.
Penna tweeted that Mubarak will be eligible to switch immediately and play at age 39.
However, it is unclear yet if former Sri Lanka cricketer Jehan Mubarak has agreed to join USA Cricket.
Meanwhile, New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson may also represent the United States of America through its recruitment drive that could lead to them fielding international cricketers.
Back in 2019, the United States were granted with ODI status during the World Cricket League Division Two after their maiden ODIs way back in the 2004 Champions Trophy. (NewsWire)
