The Government has decided to continue the ban on imports of vehicles for next year also a senior Treasury official said
Treasury official explained that through the ban on vehicle imports, the Government was able to save an estimated US$ one billion and the decision to continue the restrictions would be helpful to boost the reserves, The Sunday Times reported.
A temporary ban was imposed on the importation of vehicles due to the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020, with a view to reduce the gap in the exchange rate of the foreign currency. (NewsWire)
