A 22-year-old suspect wanted over two recent shooting incidents has been killed in a shoot-out with the Police Special Task Force (STF) today.
The Police stated that the suspect was wanted over two shooting incidents reported in the Minuwangoda and Ambalangoda areas this year.
He had opened fire at the STF personnel who were trying to arrest him during a raid in the Welikadayaya area in Embilipitiya early this morning.
The Police stated that the suspect was shot dead when the Police opened fire at him in retaliation.
The Embilitpitiya Police is conducting further investigations into the incident. (NewsWire)
