One Suspect implicated in the case filed on the death of late Ruggerite Wasim Thajudeen has died and another is seriously ill, the Attorney General’s department informed court today.
The Colombo Additional Magistrate was informed that former Judicial Medical Officer (JMO) of Colombo Professor Ananda Samarasekara has died while former Senior DIG Anura Senanayake who was also named as a suspect is seriously ill.
Former Chief JMO for Colombo, Professor Ananda Samarasekara and former senior DIG Anura Senanayake are accused of concealing evidence in the Wasim Thajudeen case.
Wasim Thajudeen was a Sri Lankan rugby player who played for Havelock Sports Club and the national team.
Thajudeen was killed in a car crash in 2012 which was initially pronounced to be an accident but is currently being investigated as a murder. (NewsWire)
