The “Park and Ride” luxury bus service was launched by the National Transport Commission (NTC) today.
According to NewsFirst, Director General of the NTC Commander Nilan Miranda said the first phase of the bus service was launched from Makumbura in Kottawa.
He said the “Park and Ride” luxury bus service will be implemented across the country.
According to the newly launched bus service, the buses named ‘City Bus’ will operate every 10 minutes from 06am to 09am on a daily basis.
He said after 09am, the buses will operate every half hour until 08pm, and the final ‘City Bus’ will conclude its journey in Makumbura.
The NTC has designated an area for drivers of small vehicles and motorcyclists commuting to Colombo to park their vehicles and use the ‘Park and Ride’ luxury bus service.
Nilan Miranda said the bus service has been launched to ensure a more safe and secure travel to Colombo. (NewsWire)
