West Indies beat Sri Lanka by 4 Wickets in 1st T20: Final Score – West Indies 134/6 (12 over) in reply to Sri Lanka’s 131/9 in 20 over – After surviving some anxious moments from the Sri Lankan spinners, West Indies registered 4 wicket vicotry over the visiting Lankan team courtesy Six Sixes in a over from Kieron Pollard.
After whirlwind start from the West Indies openers Evin Lewis 26(15) and Lendl Simmons 28(10), Sri Lankan spinners rocked the West Indies chase. Both Akhila Dhananjaya and Desilva took 3 wickets each to to put the Caribbean team in bother.
Akila Dhananjaya took hat-trick in his 2nd over but Kieron Pollard 6 sixes in very next over from Dhananjaya completely changed the complex of the match. After Pollard got out, Jason Holder 29* calmly took the West Indies to the finish line.
Chris Gayle could not deliver much on his international comeback and was out 1st ball.
Earlier Sri Lanka had set 132 runs target for the West Indies. The West Indies bowlers bowled brilliantly and restricted Sri Lankan innings to 131/9 in 20 overs. (Inside Sports)
