Constitution work of the new underground Storm Water Drainage Tunnel in Mutwal, Colombo North concluded today.
The tunnel was built aiming to mitigate the physical, social and economic impact of floods in the Colombo metropolitan area.
The project was implemented by the Ministry of Megapolis and Western Development and the Urban Development Authority last year at a total cost of Rs. 3.45 billion with financial assistance from the World Bank under the Metro Colombo Urban Development Project (MCUDP). (NewsWire)
