Field Marshall Sarath Fonseka today questioned Parliament as to why he was not sworn-in as a member of Parliament during the 30-month jail term issued under Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa’s tenure as President.
The former Minister said he was not permitted to attend Parliament after being imprisoned.
He made the observation in Parliament, when commenting on the swearing-in of death sentenced MP Premalal Jayasekara as a member of Parliament which took place in Parliament today.
Meanwhile, former Minister Harin Fernando said that the court has only ordered the Speaker to make the decision. (NewsWire)
