The Maharagama Police has launched investigations into the assault of a fuel station employee and manager by a group claiming to be affiliated with a minister.
A man in a minivan is reported to have attempted to pump fuel without a National Fuel Pass QR code, following which an argument ensues between the man and the employee at the fuel pump.
As the man had attempted to assault the fuel station employee, the latter retaliates by throwing the fuel pump at the man during which drops of fuel had splashed on the van driver’s face.
The man who had left the fuel station had returned with a group claiming to be affiliated with a minister and had assaulted the fuel station employee and the shed manager.
Video footage of the incident has been captured on the CCTV cameras at the fuel station. (NewsWire)
