Former Minister Nirupama Rajapaksa and her husband Thirukumar Nadesan had amassed their wealth, as alleged in the Pandora Papers, during the period of 1990- 1998, Minister Namal Rajapaksa pointed out yesterday.
He said, thereby, the matter must be questioned from then Presidents Ranasinghe Premadasa and Chandrika Bandaranaike on how that happened.
“Nirupama Rajapaksa is my cousin, but she was with President Sirisena in the last Government. Family relationships and politics are two different things,” Namal said.
Stating that Nirupama was the wife of Thirukumar Nadesan, Minister Rajapaksa questioned as to what could be done with connections that are created through marriage. (NewsWire)
