The Ministry of Sports and Youth is to launch an initiative to dedicate one day of the month for public volunteers.
Minister Namal Rajapaksa said the last Saturday of the month will be allocated as ‘Volunteer Day’.
He further insisted the new initiative is not being implemented to create an organization or alliance.
The Minister said instead, it is being launched for public volunteers to gather and carry out activities for the benefit of their areas, villages and the country. (NewsWire)
