Former Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa was questioned on a TV show as to why he addresses national issues via Twitter statements and not by directly resolving it with the President and Prime Minister despite being related to them.
The member of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) said there is no room for nepotism in the Government despite the President being his uncle and the Prime Minister being his father.
Former MP Rajapaksa further said that he addresses various issues raised in the nation during discussions with relevant officials, but does not discuss the matters outside of the meetings.
“There is a difference between home and Parliament. I do not have the right to discuss such matters at home. That is my stand’, he added. (Newswire)
I was impressed with @RajapaksaNamal’s comeback to my question on his much-talked-about tweets. It was a good discussion and I enjoyed even the heated moments. From experience now I can guarantee that Namal is a good opponent to have in a discussion #SriLankaNext #lka pic.twitter.com/X8mWMhmMt2
