The Government will be required to hold discussions with India before taking any decision on the provincial council system in Sri Lanka, State Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara said.
“We can’t take a decision alone on the provincial council system. We have to discuss with India about it, otherwise we might have to face issues again” State Minister said.
State Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara said the matter cannot be decided alone and needs to be discussed with India on the successful implementation of the process.
He told reporters that it was essential to amend the electoral system of the Provincial Council elections.
The State Minister further said it is more viable to hold the election under a new electoral system. (NewsWire)
