A group of Sri Lankan youth who met the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in Syria were not linked to the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks, United National Party (UNP) MP Ranil Wickremesinghe informed Parliament yesterday.
The former Prime Minister said intelligence officers had closely monitored the youth after they had returned to Sri Lanka.
MP Ranil Wickremesinghe also called on the Government to submit to Parliament the investigation reports on the Easter Sunday attacks.
Responding to the former Prime Minister, Minister of Public Security Rear Admiral Sarath Weerasekara said that investigations are currently ongoing into the terrorist attacks.
He added that the investigation reports will be submitted to Parliament once the probes are concluded. (NewsWire)
