WATCH : Rare moment of unity in Parliament to find solutions

The opposition has agreed to assist Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in securing life-saving medicines that are in shortage in Sri Lanka at present.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe informed Parliament today that a shortage of 14 essential medicines, including those for diabetes and heart ailments, has been reported as of now.

He reached out to the opposition, requesting them to help secure at least one out of the necessary essential medicines.

Responding to his request, opposition leader Sajith Premadasa agreed to provide their assistance in securing the necessary medication.

He said the opposition may not have the funds to provide the medicine for the whole of Sri Lanka but will do its best to secure the important life-saving medicines. (NewsWire)
