Leader of the Opposition MP Sajith Premadasa today requested the Speaker of the House Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena to provide a final decision on the leaderships of the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE), Committee on Public Accounts (COPA) and the Public Finance Committee.
The Opposition had earlier requested that the Leaderships of the COPE, COPA and Public Finance Commitee be granted to members of the Opposition.
In response to MP Premadasa’s request during Parliament sittings today, Speaker Abeywardena said the Parliamentary Working Group will hold a discussion and drawn a final decision in this regard.
Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, and Ministers Dinesh Gunawardena and Bandula Gunawardena also shared their views on the matter. (Newswire)
