New Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa took part in recreation surfing session today at proposed new surfing destination in Hambanthota.
He was at Hambanthota over the weekend participating for the Fit Sri Lanka Beach Sports Carnival, a concept by him which came to see the day of light just after he undertook sports portfolio.
Rajapaksa said that he plans to develop a sports driven economy and sports driven tourism culture in the country, and is very much looking forward to continue helping beach sports and conduct these type of carnivals every weekend at all popular beaches in the country.
He said the experiment to develop Hambanthota as a popular surfing destination has proved successful with the response to this event. (NewsWire)
