SLN rescues injured Captain of the Oil Tanker on fire

– Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) deploys another Bell 212 Helicopter

Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) rescued the third engineer who was critically injured from the oil tanker currently on fire at the seas off Sangaman Kanda and brought ashore for further treatments, Navy Spokesman Capt. Indika De Silva said.

He said ship’s Captain including another crew member was also rescued during the operation.

The remaining ship’s crew was rescued and they were shifted to a vessel passing by while vacating the hazardous tanker, he added. (Defense.lk)
