A heated argument erupted between State Minister of Wildlife Wimalaweera Dissanayake and a group of officials from the Department of Wildlife Conservation.
An exchange of words took place between the State Minister and Wildlife officials after the former had arrived in Polonnaruwa to resolve an issue raised by residents of Weheragodayaya.
The residents had requested land to be allocated for farming and cattle to graze within a national wildlife park, which was strongly opposed by the Wildlife officials.
Meanwhile, Wildlife officials have decided to stage a one-day token strike tomorrow (27) against the behaviour of State Minister Wimalaweera Dissanayake in Polonnaruwa.
The Wildlife officials charge that the State Minister had threatened and forced them to accept his solution to issues raised by residents of Weheragodayaya. (NewsWire)
