The Central bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal says that the vehicle import ban currently in effect will continue till December this year at least and a decision will be made by that time.
Commenting further on import restrictions, he said that the government does not intend to continue the import restrictions currently in place for a long time.
The CB governor made these comments while participating in an online interview with the Advocata institute.
Ajith Nivard Cabraal was also quizzed on other financial issues the country is facing at the moment including the crude oil imports. He assured that the Central Bank will release funds to import required crude oil for the next 3 months. (NewsWire)
