Sri Lanka’s Health Ministry has amended certain regulations pertaining to COVID-19 currently in effect in the country.
Issuing a circular, the Ministry said wearing a face mask is no longer mandatory in indoor or outdoor settings.
The Health Ministry has also announced that performing the COVID-19 PCR test/ Rapid Antigen Test as a screening test will be halted.
However, the Director-General of Health Services said those suffering from respiratory conditions are encouraged to wear a face mask.
The public has also been requested to be socially responsible despite the removal of the mask mandate in the country.
