The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for severe lightning in several parts of Sri Lanka effective until 11.30 p.m. today.
Accordingly, thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning are likely to occur at several places in the Western, Central, North-central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Uva and North-western provinces and in the Ampara, Vavuniya and Mannar districts.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.
The public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity. (NewsWire)
