Mainly fair weather will prevail over most parts of the island today, according to the Department of Meteorology.
There is a possibility of ground frost at some places in the Nuwara-Eliya district during the early hours of the morning.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western and Uva provinces and the Galle and Matara districts in the morning.
Meanwhile, mainly fair weather will prevail in the sea areas around the island.
Winds will be north-easterly and wind speed will be 20-30 kmph. Wind speed may increase up to 45-50 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota and from Colombo to Kankasanthurai via Puttalam and Mannar.
