The Police in a statement has denied that a 19-year-old woman had died due to an accident related to a Gas explosion.
Earlier the Lankadeepa had reported that a woman who had sustained injuries reportedly in a gas explosion died last evening (25) after receiving treatment for nearly 12 days at the Colombo National Hospital.
The Police said that initial investigations have revealed that the woman has reportedly died by suicide by setting herself on fire.
According to Lankadeepa, the father of the woman called on the relevant authorities to conduct a special investigation into the matter claiming it was a blast-related to a gas explosion. (NewsWire)
