A man has been murdered yesterday (20th April) by his wife at his house in Yatiwawala, Katugastota, after the deceased had engaged in a verbal altercation with his wife, Police said.
According to police reports, the deceased is a 42 year old man who was residing in Katugastota. The wife had slit his throat with a knife and attacked his head with an axe too, which resulted grievous injuries to the man. The man had breathed his last when he was admitted to the Kandy General Hospital.
The wife of the deceased, who is suspected for the murder, was arrested by Katugastota Police and was supposed to be produced to Kandy Magistrate Courts today (21st). Katugastota Police conducts further investigations into the matter.
