Minister Wimal Weerawansa has issued a clarification regarding several social media posts circulating over comments made by him during a recent cabinet meeting.
He states that some of the comments he made are being misinterpreted.
The minister says that during the cabinet meetings, he emphasized the need for the President to actively engage in politics. He said that by doing so, many problems could be resolved.
Weerawansa also says that he stressed the importance of taking certain important decisions after a thorough discussion within the cabinet, rather than taking decisions hastily. He highlights that this will ensure the government makes steady decisions.
He concluded that he had to share these information in public solely as a measure to encounter the misinformation circulating in social media.
