Sri Lanka has recorded a workers’ remittance of US$ 487.6 million in January 2024, Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment Manusha Nanayakkara announced.
Taking to ‘X’, Minister Nanayakkara said this was an increase of 11.4% compared to January 2023.
According to data from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, workers’ remittances recorded a healthy level of around US Dollars 6 billion in 2023.
The Central Bank reported that Sri Lanka recorded the highest monthly value in December 2023 since April 2021. (NewsWire)
